Safety improvements in existing lift facilities
Every day, millions of people in Germany travel in approximately 600,000 lift
facilities, approximately. 300,000 of which are over 20 years old. These often
fail to correspond with the current state-of-the-art, a factor which may lead
to avoidable, serious accidents. The European EN 81-80 standard is a checklist
for existing lifts that is generally accepted at European level.
Kollmorgen Steuerungstechnik has reorganised its product programme with regard to
these measures, extending it and grouping it under the product category heading
of "Refitting products as per EN81-80".
The consistent fulfilment of the requirements of the standard, together with
rapid and simple assembly of components are primary factors taken into
consideration when developing new products.
